COMPUTER WORKSHOP-THE DETAILS
The workshop will be composed of three 45-minute segments on Zoom. Ruth Riesh, our instructor, has had experience working this way and she says, “It works out fine.” This is what Ruth plans to cover:
1) How to use our laptops and log into sites that are good to use for tutoring.
2) What has worked for Ruth when working remotely with her students.
3) Review of the Council's laptop check-out process; information on checking out a hotspot from Marinette Library if needed.
The time frame is from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. Each 45-minute section will have a 15-minute break in between to allow for stretching, bathroom breaks, etc.
Tutors can arrange to use the Council's laptops ahead of time by calling/texting Janet (920-373-1035). Tutors can either come to the Coleman Literacy office to pick one up or arrangements can be made with Janet to pick one up elsewhere. Internet access is necessary. Help with Zoom can be available at registration.
A subway gift card will be given to all who sign up for the workshop so we can all "do lunch" at our convenience during the sessions.
Although tutors will have the option of coming to the Coleman literacy office for this event, Ruth will be presenting the workshop from her own home.
